Comparing 3D Figures and Kahoot!

In Science, we played a game on Kahoot to practice movement vocabulary. If you want to test your knowledge, you can play the game here:)  Enjoy!  You have to beat MM who was the high scorer for this round.
In Math, we compared 3D figures and shared our findings with the group.  Tomorrow we will continue to share our discoveries.  We are getting really good at knowing the difference between a prism and a pyramid!

3D Solids and Adventure Narratives

Displaying IMG_7859.JPGWe continue to work on our geometry unit in math, specifically 3D Solids.  We have discovered that there are some big differences between prisms and pyramids. Here are some anchor charts we have made together in the class. As well, we continue to work on our math stations each morning. Two of the stations require students to show their learning with the ipads and upload their work to their individual kidblogs. Be sure to check them out whenever possible...comments are appreciated!
In Language, we continue to work on writing better narratives. Today, we wrote an adventure narrative after watching a one minute video called 'Desert Island.' Together we wrote a narrative that included a problem and a solution. You will notice that we did not start our story with "Once upon a time..." or end with...THE END. Here is the video prompt:

And here is our finished narrative!

3D Solids Math Stations and Palm Sunday

Displaying PicCollageWe started our 3D solid math stations today.  Two of the groups used ipads to show their learning, while others used the Smartboard and good, old-fashioned worksheets!
Check out our blogs to see what we have been up to in math.

We learned a little bit about Palm Sunday today.  Ask your child what it is all about.  If they forget, check out this awesome video that explains everything!
