Remembrance Day and Recount

We continue to learn about writing a good recount.  At the end of the day, we collaborated to write a really good recount of our gym class.  It had lots of details and used linking words to bump the sentences up.  What do you think?

Tomorrow we will be having a Remembrance Day ceremony in the gym at 10:45.  Please wear your uniform or the colour red.  We watched a video called 'Why Wear a Poppy' and wrote about it at one of our literacy stations.

We also read 'Remembrance Day-The Story' during shared reading.  We brainstormed all the words we could think of that reminded us of Remembrance Day and made this...

Remembrance Day, Wondering Wednesday and Success in Math Workshop

We will be having a Remembrance Day ceremony in the gym on November 11th.  The Grade Four students will be selling poppies at school this week.  If you are in brownies or beavers, please wear your uniform on Tuesday as well. Parents are invited to the Achieving Success in Math and Beyond event on November 15th. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Marian Small who inspires many of our math inquiries in grade two. Check here for more information on this great event:)
Another group presented their estimating and counting Show Me...next time they will have to record their voices to go along with their sorting! Today is Wondering Wednesday. We listened to the story " I Wonder..." and then talked about what we were wondering. We did not have time to hear all the wonderings everyone wanted to share so the students are invited to post their own wonderings on our Padlet wall below.
