What We've Been Up To in 3C!
In Art, we looked at different kinds of lines and created our own mini masterpieces. Using watercolour paint and pastels, we let our imaginations run wild! Take a peek at our awesome artwork!
In Math, we continue to look at place value and number sense. We played a game called 'Number Detective'. We were allowed to ask people three questions about the number on our back (we didn't know what the number was!). The questions asked had to be 'yes' or ' no' questions. It was a lot of fun and we used math vocabulary to figure out our mystery number. Way to go 3C! You rocked this activity:)

Allergy Alert, Inferring and Simple Machines
Please do not send in hummus to our classroom as we have a child who is allergic to sesame (which is sometimes in hummus).
This morning we had our Gospel Value Assembly. The Gospel Value for April is Stewardship for Creation. Congratulations to Holly and Van who won for the month of March- Faith.
A BIG happy birthday to Jiwar who turned 8 today!
Today we listened (and looked at) to the story 'Just a Dream'. Walter is a litterbug who does not appreciate the beauty of nature or understand his role in keeping the planet healthy. In the book he goes on a journey that shows what could happen to the Earth if humans are not more careful. We did a lot of inferring to figure out what was going on in the story. We used the picture clues and our schema to explain the pictures in the story. A perfect book for Earth Week.
Today we dramatized some simple machines and our audience had to guess what we were. We will finish this up on Friday:) Lots of fun! Here is a link for a great site about Simple Machines!

Subtraction with Regrouping
We are learning to subtract with regrouping. We know if there is more on the floor, we need to go next door (tens) and bring it over to the ones. Then are top number will be bigger than the number on the bottom. Here is a great video to help with our understanding,
Our two winners for the Gospel Value of Dignity of the Person are Averie and Jacob. Well done!
The Gospel Value for the month of February is...LOVE.
Homework went home today in the yellow folder. It will be due at the end of the month. Please make sure it is neat and organized (easier to mark!). A green duotang also went home. Please take out the work in the duotang (you can keep that). You can check out the assessments that are stapled but please return them in the plastic folder. Thanks again!
