What We Have Been Up To

Today we wrapped up our Samaritans on the Digital Road by creating posters about Digital Citizenship.  Some of us used the Pic Collage app and others decided to create a traditional poster. Stay tuned for pictures to be posted on our Seesaw portfolios!

Before heading out to have our pictures taken, we ordered ourselves from smallest to tallest (without talking!).

Yesterday we took a look at the Big Ideas for our Science unit-Forces Causing Movement.  These are the things we will be investigating over the next few weeks.

In the morning, we took a look at another WODB (Which One Doesn't Belong).  What do YOU think?

Today we began our Science Stations where we are investigating Forces.  We will be rotating through four stations and it looks like Mystery Science is the most popular station. Take a look!

In gym, we have been rotating through movement stations like 'frisbee' toss, beanbag toss, scooters, skipping and the agility ladder.  Take a peek!

This week for the Global Read Aloud we read the book 'Nana in the City'.  Students were asked to write about how a cape (like the one in the story) might make them brave.  Check out our padlet and our awesome writing!

We also finished our collaborative Google Slides presentation about how we can be the Good News like Jesus!

What We've Been Up To in 3C!

In Art, we looked at different kinds of lines and created our own mini masterpieces.  Using watercolour paint and pastels, we let our imaginations run wild!  Take a peek at our awesome artwork!

In Math, we continue to look at place value and number sense.  We played a game called 'Number Detective'. We were allowed to ask people three questions about the number on our back (we didn't know what the number was!). The questions asked had to be 'yes' or ' no' questions.  It was a lot of fun and we used math vocabulary to figure out our mystery number.  Way to go 3C!  You rocked this activity:)

Today we read our first book from the Global Read Aloud 2016,  We are doing an author/illustrator study of Lauren Castillo.  The first book we read is called 'Nana in the City' about a young boy scared of the big, noisy city.  His grandma knits him a cape to confront his fears and he ends up loving the city!  Afterwards, we reflected on our own fears, shared them with the class and wrote about them using the template found here. Pictures to follow later this week!

This week, we are going to do our homework on Google Forms.  It is posted below as well as on individual Seesaw accounts. We tried Google Forms on Friday and I thought it might be a more 'fun' way to do our homework.  If you would prefer to answer the questions on a piece of paper...no problem...just make sure your name is on it!
